It’s half way through 2025, and we’re living in a time when everything you know about traditional weddings can be thrown out the window. Forget social norms and status quo’s— where do you want to say “I do”? These two said their vows near the shore of Lake Cushman with this incredible backdrop..and the whole experience felt more like a dream.
He took her to Deception Pass on one of their first dates and it felt so right to do their engagement session here. We live in a region where couples get to choose between state parks and fancy restaurants for a night out and I hope I never take this for granted.

Thinking of all the mom and dads today— and the absurd amount of pressure that you must be feeling during this time. “Be a full time parent and an employee,” society said “And if your work is terminated, find another way to pay the bills” . All while managing the psychological effects of a global pandemic on your children and yourselves. I realize this is impossible. And I’m sorry this situation is wrongfully set up to support your families. I wish there were simple solutions. The least I can say to you today, is that it’s okay to not be okay.
Small businesses— how are you continuing to “work” during this time? I understand that it’s not possible to work in the same way you normally do, and I also understand the importance of rest and self care right now. But what are some things you are finding ways to improve on? How can you use this slower period to gain some insight and perspective? The last few weeks, my main goals have been to improve my website SEO, to define my brand voice, and to take more time to learn from other photographers. @iamthesam and @benjhaisch both have amazingly helpful Patreons, btw. And @elenasblair_photography shares fantastic content all over the internet! Small business friends, take a moment to realize how lucky we are to live in the digital age and how much we can still accomplish and learn from the safety of our own homes! Here’s to a safe and insightful week ahead.
